Our Mission:
To provide you with the knowledge-base, skill set, and values necessary to effectively provide high level patient-centered care, demonstrate leadership in the community pharmacy and profession, and understand the financial, legal, and social barriers that exist in the real world setting.

What Will I Achieve?
 - Explore opportunities and challenges associated with operating an independent community pharmacy
 - Participate in and develop direct patient care services in a variety of settings
 - Provide evidence-based education to patients, the community, and healthcare professionals
 - Experience the integral role a pharmacist plays on a multi-disciplinary team

Why PGPA Pharmacy?
PGPA offers a diverse range of services.  Our unique community practice setting provides pharmacy services to both local patients and patients at affiliated off-site Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).  As such, there will be ample opportunity to customize your residency program while still meeting the core goals set forth by ASHP.

Ferris State University (FSU), College of Pharmacy is committed to providing the highest quality pharmacy professional education.  Through association with their program, you will interact with other residents and students, and be supported in your academic and research learning experiences.

What Will I Be Doing?
 - Participating in the provision and expansion of patient care services at PGPA and affiliated FQHCs
 - Providing evidence-based education
 - Participating in community outreach programs
 - Conducting MTM and medication reviews in a variety of settings
 - Gaining business and managerial tools through real world and hypothetical experiences
 - Expanding your existing knowledge-base, personal skills, and values

How Is Ferris State University Involved?
 - Offers PEDALS - a teaching certification program
 - Coordinates interaction with other PGY1 residents and pharmacy students
 - Facilitates your academic learning experiences
 - Hosts monthly academic discussions and provides for potential College of Pharmacy committee
   involvement

What Is Expected of Me?
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who will professionally contribute to the achievement of the mission of PGPA Pharmacy and its Residency.  It is the expectation that all licensing requirements and immunization certification be fulfilled by August 2012.  Please understand that achievement of ASHP accreditation will be retroactive.

Timeline
Because this is our first year, we will not be participating in the Match.  Instead, our timeline is:
January 1, 2012:  Applications due to FSU; include a letter of intent, CV and 3 letters of recommendation
February 2012:  Interviews to take place at PGPA Pharmacy
March 2012:  Candidate to be selected
July 2012:  Position to begin
